Rockey Neill Stanaland went to be with the Lord Friday October 11, 2019. Rockey was born December 7, 1955 in Anson, TX to Samuel Leonard and Vera Althea Stanaland. Rockey was the youngest of 4 boys Rodney, Rickey and Randey. Rockey graduated Cooper High School in 1974. Rockey worked a few jobs after high school before following in his father’s footsteps and going to work at Halliburton in 1976. He married Debra Kay Marth of Roscoe, Texas on April 9, 1976 and they have enjoyed 43 years of marriage together. He was a proud father to 3 boys; Russell, Chris and Sam Stanaland. Rockey was the doting grandfather to many grandchildren; Taylor, Emily, Courtney, Gage and Layten Stanaland; James, Savanna, and Wyatt Stanaland; and his namesake Raylon Rockey Stanaland.
Rockey was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Althea; his granddaughter, Taylor; and his in-laws, Rudene Armstrong and Dr. Don Marth
Rockey was known by all as a hard worker who instilled a work ethic in his boys that if anything was to be done, you should do it right the first time. He could not stand to do anything “half-ass”. Rockey was a giver and a doer, being gifted in welding, mechanics, and computers. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially at the “mountain house” where he spent countless hours building and renovating a home that generations to come will enjoy.
He worked for Halliburton until the Abilene plant closed. He then started his own companies including Personal Touch Video which he ran with his wife Debbie. Rockey went back to work for Halliburton in Levelland in 2008 until 2015 when he began working for Innovex Downhole Solutions where he was currently employed.
