Roy Flores, 53 passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 in a tragic accident. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a wake service to follow from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. His funeral service will be held Thursday, June 8, 10:00 AM at St. Frances Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood Street Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, 1133 Cottonwood Abilene, Texas.

Roy Flores was born in Abilene, Texas on February 27, 1964 to Merced Flores and Margarita Leyva. He grew up in Abilene, Tx. He attended and graduated from Copper High School. Flores worked for UPS since 1988 and was about to be inducted into the delivery service's 25 years of safe driving Circle of Honor. In his spare time he spent it with his nieces and nephew, and great nieces and nephews. He loved life and lived through them. Although he had no children of his own he treated them as his own. Roy was well loved and was a great role model to all.

Roy is survived by his mother, Margarita Flores; brothers, Poncho Flores, Robert Flores, and Merced Flores Jr.; sister, Juanita Flores, Julia Flores, Maggie Flores, and Rosa Flores; nephews, Elizar "Pops" Flores Jr., Steven "Pumpkin" Flores, Ildephonso "Peanut" Flores Jr., Ricky Gonzalez, and Isaiah Cosme; Nieces, Melinda Flores, Ana Gonzalez, April Gonzalez, Mrcedes Flores, and Sierra Flores.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merced Flores, and a brother, Elizar "Papo" Flores.
