Rogelio Rodriguez

Rogelio Rodriguez, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in Anson, Texas. A visitation will begin at 6:00pm, Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A rosary service will follow visitation beginning at 7:00pm. The funeral mass will be 10:00am, Friday, June 4, 2021 at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Dr, Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow in the Abilene City Cemetery.
Rogelio was born August 25, 1934 in Falfurrias, Texas to his parents, Jose and Luciana Rodriguez. He married the love of his life Severina Zamora in Muleshoe, Texas on August 1, 1958. The couple had a blissful marriage and welcomed five daughters into the world together. Rogelio worked for Abilene Lumber and H&G Construction for several years and was a very hard worker. Above all Rogelio loved his family with all his heart and was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Rogelio will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Severina Rodriguez; his granddaughter, Annabel Rodriguez; his brothers, Radolfo Rodriguez, Francisco Morales, Roberto Rodriguez, Gilbert Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez, Ramiro Rodriguez; and three great grandchildren, Aristeo Rodriguez, Abigail Hinds, and Giovanni Hinds.
Rogelio is survived by his daughters, Rosalinda Moreno (Miguel), Juanita Lozano (Gustavo), Gloria Olvera (Mike), Carla Rodriguez (Aristeo), and Monica Rodriguez (Cesar); a granddaughter they raised, Sandra Torres (Armando); two sons from a previous marriage, Roger Thompson (Oralia), and Oscar Thompson (Terry); his brother, Lucio Rodriguez; and several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Ruben Rodriguez Jr., Ysmel Olvera, Luis Rodriguez, Raymond Vidaurri, Michael Fraire, and Oscar Thompson Jr, and honorary pallbearer, Rogelio Rodriguez.
