Roger Gene Beamer, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated veteran, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on March 22, 1931, in Willard, OH, Roger lived a life filled with love, adventure, and service. He spent an esteemed career in the U.S. Air Force, enlisting on July 27, 1954, and proudly serving until his discharge on August 1, 1973.
Roger's spirit thrived in the great outdoors; he was an outdoor enthusiast who found joy in fishing and exploring nature. His adventurous soul also drew him to travel and cruise the open seas, relishing the experiences that came with each journey. A devoted sports fan, he showed unwavering loyalty to the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, frequently enjoying both televised games and live performances.
Throughout his life, Roger remained deeply committed to his community, actively participating in church activities and nurturing strong connections with friends and family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Beamer; his daughter, Cheryl Wallace, and son-in-law, Dusty Wallace; his son, Russell Beamer, and daughter-in-law, Carrie Beamer; as well as his six cherished grandchildren: Cara Starmer husband Sean, Cayla Best husband Casey, Benjamin Barton, Jared Wallace wife Ashley, Derek Wallace wife Nancy, and Derek Swanson and wife Katina and 9 very loved great-grandchilderen
The visitation The for Roger will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home on April 1, 2025, 6:00-8:00 PM, providing family and friends the opportunity to share their memories and celebrate his life. A funeral service will take place the following day, April 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, where we will gather to honor Roger's remarkable journey and the profound impact he made on those around him.
Following the service, Roger will be laid to rest Elmwood Memorial Park 5750 HWY 277 South, Abilene, TX 79606. As we reflect on Roger's life, we remember a man who embraced every moment with passion, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will forever remain in our hearts.
