Ronald Edward Stanson, 61, of Abilene, Beloved Son, Father, Brother and Friend, was received into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 in Abilene, TX.
Ronald was born in New Rochelle, New York on June 9th, 1958 to Leonard Stanson and Ann Netto Stanson and was raised in Tuckahoe, New York. Ronald served with the Civil Air Patrol and was an Auxiliary Police Officer. He volunteered as a certified EMT and was a life member of the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He retired June 8th, 2011 after 30 years of service as a Westchester County Corrections Officer in New York and moved to Abilene to be close to his twin brother, Donald, and his family. Ronald enjoyed gardening, collecting rocks, and saving pennies. He was dedicated to recycling, helping the environment and was a loyal blood donor, donating over 5 gallons of blood throughout his lifetime. As an active member of the community, he was involved in the filming of Brother’s Keeper, where he was cast as an extra. He was always late for everything except when someone needed help. Ronald was a true friend and a blessing to all whose lives he touched.
Ronald is preceded in death by his Aunt and Uncle, Jean and Bill Winsman.
Ronald is survived by his children, Emily, Andrew, Christine; siblings, twin brother Donald, Bobby, and Susan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including his furry grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Retired Military Wives Club in care of Mariette Stanson,1326 Weavers Way, Abilene Texas 79602.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2019 at 2pm at Elmwood Memorial Park.
