Ronnie Lee Bristow, 66, of Hawley passed away Sunday January 11, 2015 in Abilene.
Funeral services for Ronnie will be held Wednesday January 14 at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church in Hawley with Bill Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Ronnie was born March 3, 1948 in Haskell, Texas the youngest of five children born to E.E. (Bol) and Marie Wilson Bristow, he grew up and attended school in Hawley, Texas. Upon graduation, he served two years in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado where he met the love of his life, Connie Jean Bowers. Together they raised four boys; Dan, Troy, Cliff, and Tony.
Ronnie's family and friends were the most important part of his life. He especially enjoyed going to his grandkids baseball, basketball, and football games. He would also make special trips to visit others that he cared about. As a father and grandfather, he instilled into his family, loyalty, trust, and compassion for others and leaves a legacy that shows the man he truly was.
Ronnie is survived by his sons and their spouses; Dan and Rose, Troy and LaDonna, Cliff and Carolynn, Tony and Kerri and 13 grandkids; Kyle, Chelsea, Kirk, Kaitlyn, Sterling, Jordan, Jared, Tyler, Jacy, Jocelynn, Grant, Jake and Journey, and one great grandchild, Brantley. He is also survived by his sister Mary and several nieces and nephews. Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife Connie, his mother and father, his brothers Donnie and Robert and sister Betty.
