Ronny Coon

Ronny Raymond Coon, 77, of Abilene, Texas passed away in his home on March 31, 2015.

Funeral service for Ronny will be held Saturday, April 4 at 1:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 US HWY 277 S. Abilene, Texas. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 11 to 1 at the funeral home.

Ronny was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on December 28, 1937. On April 5, 1975 he married the love of his life, Sarah Lewallen in Odessa, TX. They were inseperable until the day of his death. In addition to his wife he leaves behind a son, Blain Coon and wife Sandy of Odessa, TX; Daughter, Carma Eary and husband George of Rowlett, TX; Grandchildren, Dennis (Duke) Barker of Odessa, Amanda Hammon of Odessa, Joshua Eary of Brady, Alex Eary of Brady; 11 Great Grandchildren; Sisiter Inlaw, Sandy Lewallen Elrod and husband Larry; Nephew, Stacy Aldridge of Ardmore, OK.

Ronny was preceded in death by his sweet baby girl "Char-Mel", a Bichon Frise

Ronny and Sarah spent the last 20 years traveling in their RV. He leaves behind many friends from around the United States and Canada, as well as his wonderful neighbors on Spinks Road.

Ronny was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp, was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. In the early 70's he went to work for El Paso Products Company in Odessa, TX and retired from the company in 1994. He was a AA Specialist Mechanic at the time of his retirement. After retirement he and Sarah moved to Lake LBJ and in 2010 settled in Abilene, TX.
