Rosa Gonzales

Rosa Villa Gonzales went to be with the Lord at the age of 77 on Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2009 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Rosa was born in Abilene on November 8, 1931 to Longino Villa and Maria Quiroz. She married Francisco Gonzales on April 12, 1953 in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and faithful, servant of the Lord, working alongside her husband in ministry for 49 years.

Survivors include two sons, Francisco Javier Gonzales and wife Silvia of Abilene and Luis Lauro Gonzales and wife Carol of Dallas; four daughters, Maria Angelica Martinez, Rosalinda White and Idalia Weber all of Abilene and Ida Sparks of Austin; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, a grandson, Jorge Luiz Gonzales, four brothers, Longino Kino, Salvador Rafael, Porfirio Pilo, Jose and three sisters, Maria, Ester and Juanita preceded her in death.

Rosa Villa Gonzales is now rejoicing in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our hearts are empty, but blessed be the Lord who sends his Holy Spirit to comfort us in these moments of suffering. Praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, AMEN.
