Rosa Martinez, 68, passed away on May 19, 2014 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6:00 till 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2014 with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 US Hwy 277 South. Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 2525 Westview with interment following in Abilene City Cemetery
Rosa was born December 6, 1945 to Felipe Solis Martinez and Clemencia Rios. She was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Vincent Catholic Church. She took care of her mother after her fathers passing for many years. She loved to dance and have a good time. Spending time with her family and her best friend Julia, were some of her favorite things. Rosa attended Abilene Adult Education and St. Vincent Adult Education classes where she earned several Certificates of Achievement.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph Martinez sister, Alejondra Villalovos nephews, Bernardino Martinez Jr., Rafael Martinez, and Danny Martinez Godmother, Julia Ortiz.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents siblings, Bernardino Martinez, Rito Martinez, Rudy Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Vicente Martinez, Antonia Gaurigui, and Juana Jimenez.
