Rosalee Schmidt

Rosalee Jones Schmidt, age 85, of Abilene, TX passed away in Chattanooga, TN.

Rosalee was born October 24, 1938 to Vollie "Catline" Jones and Margaret Lucille Jones on October 24, 1938. She grew up in Abilene, TX and has spent the past two years in Chattanooga, TN with her loving family. She was an elementary school teacher, and a Realtor at Senter Realtors. She was a very talented artist, and taught art lessons in her garage during the 1960's. Having had many hobbies over the years, the one that will be most remembered will be her love for Facebook. Her witty humor and remarks have entertained many for the last several years.

Rosalee married Don Green in 1961. They had their only daughter, Jamie Ellen Green in 1969. Family was the most important thing to her, and she loved helping raise her three grandchildren, Kristina (Varner) Pemberton, Cody Varner, and Corbin Varner.

Being a member of the Abilene High School Class of 1957 was a huge part of Rosalee's life. While attending her 40th class reunion, she was introduced to an old classmate, the love of her life, Kenny Schmidt. They had a beautiful marriage, and enjoyed attending Abilene High School football games and reunions. They were members of Aldersgate United Methodist church and were huge supporters of the Annual Rummage sale.

Rosalee is survived by her daughter, Jamie Green; her step-son, Daniel Schmidt; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kristina Pemberton and husband Brad, Cody Varner and wife Jennifer, and Corbin Varner and wife Bailey. She has two precious great grandchildren; Roman Pemberton and Easton Varner. She has two nieces; Jennifer Potts and husband Shawn, and Kay Anne Jones and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Vollie and Lucille Jones, her husband; Kenny Schmidt, and her two brothers; Vollie Don Jones and Joe Jones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.
