Rosita Moreno

Rosita Jimenez Moreno, 73, of Abilene passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, in Abilene.

A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX 79606. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.

Rosita was born on July 10, 1948, in Ranger, Texas to Manuel and Santiga Jimenez. She married Jesus Moreno Sr. on September 16, 1975, in Abilene. She was a member of Restoration Church of Abilene for the last 3 years.

Rosita was lovingly known as “Nosie Rosie” by her family because she loved knowing the scoop on everything that was going on with her friends and family. She loved being with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She adored her fur baby Roman who she named after her favorite actor on her beloved soap opera show the Young and the Restless. She wouldn't miss an episode. Rosita enjoyed trips to Walmart and going to garage sales.

She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Santiga and Reyes Canales; her father, Manuel Jimenez Sr; her brothers, Manuel Jimenez Jr., and Charlie Jimenez; and her beloved fur baby, Roman.

Rosita is survived by her husband, Jesus Moreno Sr.; her children, Frank Aracardo; Eddy Jimenez (Lesa), Melinda Hernandez (Juan Pablo), Brenda Aguilar (Diego), Jesus Moreno Jr (Brandi), Rachel Moreno, Victoria Moreno, and Vivica Moreno; 23 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and two on the way; four brothers, Johnny Canales, Ruben Canales, Robert Canales, Rudy Canales; her mother in law, Raquel Moreno; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Hendricks Hospice Care especially Kathy and Brenda. The care and love that you showed to our family will be in our hearts forever.
