Ruben Cantu, 64, passed away on January 28, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. He was born on January 21, 1961, in Freer, Texas, to his loving parents, Estanislado and Maria Cantu.

Ruben grew up in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. That same year, he met the love of his life, Teresa, and the two married on October 18, 1985, building a life together filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Ruben was a man of many talents and passions. He found joy in hunting, fishing, bowling, and watching sports, especially cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. He was an avid traveler and a dedicated knife enthusiast. His collection of Hot Wheels and lighters was a reflection of his appreciation for unique craftsmanship. Known as a jack of all trades, Ruben had a gift for fixing and creating. He worked for Sears for 15 years, where he served as a general manager, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

A man of deep faith, Ruben attended Beltway Park Church and loved the Lord wholeheartedly. Above all, he adored his family and devoted himself to taking the best care of them. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandmothers, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Ruben is survived by his wife, Teresa Cantu; his children, Vanessa Delgado and husband Joe-AL and David Michael Leal and wife Kara; and his grandchildren, Sebastian Delgado, Brayden Delgado, and Fonzie Graziano.
