Ruby "Sista" Conner Morris, 73, has gone home to be with the Lord, June 4, 2016. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00p.m at Macedonia Baptist Church, 608 North 7th Street, Abilene, Texas with Pastor Matthew M. Lubin Sr. Officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South; the family will receive friends Friday, June 10, 2016 from 5:30p.m. to 8:00p.m at Macedonia Baptist Church.
A Time to be Born: July 6, 1942, in Rotan, Texas to Marion and Ozeal Conner
A Time to Serve: Member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she grew up in church.
A Time to Learn: Attended Woodson High School and later went on to become an LPN/Medication Nurse.
A Time to Work: Ruby worked at Amy Lynn, Shady Oaks and Care Inn Nursing home of Abilene.
A Time to be Happy: Ruby was married to Gene Morris for eighteen plus years and to this union where 2 daughters and 5 Sons.
A Time of Creativity: She loved to plant vegetables in her yard or on her patio, cook and fellowship with all walks of life, there was not a stranger she would turn down helping.
A Time to Depart: June 4, 2016, "Servant of God well done" come home and take your rest.
A Time to Mourn: Precious Memories of the family Matriarch remains with those who love her most, 2 daughters, Elizabeth Morris-Brown (Billye) of Abilene, Brenda Bennett (Gerald)of Arlington; 4 sons, Anthony Morris (Betty)of Fort Worth, Samuel Morris (Gwen)of Houston, Calvin Morris (Jackie)St Louis, Mo. Timothy Morris (Sue), and her very special son Michael Morris of Oklahoma and Gene Morris (Pam)of Oklahoma; , a daughter -in-law, Shelia Cumby Morris of Fort Worth; 2 sisters Octavia Collins of Florida and Vanessa Pimpton of Lubbock; 4 brothers, Douglas Conner (Toni), Bobby Conner (Karen), Ocie Conner ( Pearlie) Arizona, Terry Conner and brother-in-law, Odell Thomas all of Abilene, aunt Helen Conner of San Angelo Texas; uncle Johnny Byrd of Abilene; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death her parents, her son Clifton "Pop" Morris, 2 sisters Donnie Gail Conner and Lavern Thomas, 2 brothers, Marion Conner Jr. and Garylen Pimpton. Memorials to be made to Meals on Wheels and Hendrick Hospice.
