Ruby Schroeder

Ruby Schroeder, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Abilene. Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Ruby was born September 27, 1922 in Perry, TX to George and Anna Domaschke Sanders. She grew up and attended school in Barclay, TX. After a short time in California she moved to Temple, TX where she worked for Felt Manufacturing. She continued her career with Felt when they moved to Stamford, TX in 1954. She married Murry Schroeder in 1959 and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. They moved to Abilene in 1968 where she worked for AISD for 10 years and then Abilene Womans Club until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and attended Grace Lutheran here in Abilene. She was a member of Pink Ladies Auxillary at Hendrick Medical Center and also held the office of VFW Auxiliary President in Stamford during the 1960s. She loved to take care of her family and spoil her grandkids by cooking and sewing for them and never missed sending a birthday or holiday card.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Murry three children, Dianna L Muehlstein of Abilene, Steven Schroeder and wife Debra of Abilene, Terry Schroeder and wife Kayla of North Richland Hills seven grandchildren, Jimmy L. Muehlstein and wife Cryst, Matt S. Muehlstein, Chuck W. Muehlstein and wife Kristi, Brent Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, Teah Schroeder, Tanner Schroeder five great grandchildren, Sydney, Abby, Bailey, Jacob, Jared one brother, Floyd Sanders of Rapid City, SD several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hendrick Medical Center and Hendrick Hospice Care for the wonderful care and support they received during this difficult time.
