Ruby Shelton

Ruby Pearl Shelton, passed away January 18, 2018. Visitation will be 5:00PM - 7:00PM Friday, January 26, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Ruby was born on September 1, 1925 and was a long time resident of Abilene, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Abilene Women's Club, Abilene Country Club, Alliance for Women and Children, and Abilene Philharmonic.

She is preceded in death by her husband, A.B. "Stormy" Shelton; her daughter, Deana Rainey Henderson; and grandson, Steve Rainey.
Ruby is survived by her son, Gary Southard and wife Patty; her daughter, Debbie DeLoach and husband Mike; stepchildren, Sharon Hoffman, Sindy Durham, Scottie Ann Wade; grandchildren, Genea Warren and husband Trent, Brent Southard and wife Stephanie, Blake Southard and wife Christina, and Shelley Rainey; step grandchildren, Chirstine Nichols, Wendy Durham, and Andy Durham; she was blessed with many great grandchildren; a loving devoted, caregiver Pam Martin, from Abilene who worked for Ruby for 29 years; and Ruby's loving dog, Chloe.

The family requests memorials be given to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, TX.
