After 91 years on earth, Angels carried Ruby Dean Willis to Paradise on October 30, 2014.
A Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene. There will be a visitation at 9 A.M. with the family at Elmwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Reverend Greer Willis of Water Valley, TX, the former Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Pecos, TX. Pall bearers are Julian H. Burch Jr., Chuck Shaddox, Glenn Creighton and Chris Wiexelbaum.
Ruby resided in Arlington, Texas for twenty years but was a long time resident of Abilene, TX from 1962 to 1994. She loved her white home on North 10th Street in Abilene.
Born in Liberty County, TX in 1923, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Willis in 1976, by her Mom, Dad and siblings except for George Shields who resides in Huntsville, TX. Mom was a great lady, loving mother and was a blessing to all who knew her. She loved to garden flowers and vegetables and people loved her baked goods. She would do anything for anyone in need. As part of the Greatest Generation, she and W.A. were involved in WWII and Cold War until his retirement from the Air Force in 1961. Ruby will be glad to be with Jesus in Paradise and united with all her loved ones and friends who have gone on to be with the LORD.
Ruby is survived by her four children, Carolyn Brown of Bryan, Judy Jordan of San Antonio, Sherry Willis of Arlington and Bill and Denise Willis of Houston five grandchildren, Julie Shaddox, Rebecca Creighton, Kris Willis and Joshua and Gabriella Willis 2 great grandchildren, Jaxson Shaddox and Jake Shaddox.
