Ruth Howard McCoy, 86, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2011. She was born on April 3, 1924 in Noodle, Texas to Clarence Howard and Armenta Wheeler Howard. Orphaned at the age of eight, she and her siblings, Dorothy May, Ethel, Anne, and Clyde, were raised at Boles Home in Quinlin, Texas.
Ruth married Raymond Anderson McCoy on November 11, 1948, in Abilene. Widowed in June 1959, she raised their four children, John, Monty Ruth, Dolores, and Raymond Jr. She became an LVN in 1970. Ruth found lifelong friends while working at Abilene State School before retiring in 1985.
Ruth enjoyed gardening, painting, and country car rides. Her children treasure her wonderful artwork. Ruths greatest gift is that she taught her family the true love of Christ. We are blessed to have known such a sweet and loving woman.
