Sally Hart

July 2, 1930 — December 4, 2007

Sally Ann Hart, 77, completed her task on December 04, 2007 and went home to the Lord. Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday at the Highland Church of Christ, with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Sally was born on July 2, 1930, in Houston, and was the youngest of five children born to Stanley Lois Brown. In 1931, during the heart of the depression she moved with her family to Kentucky. Times were hard but she conquered them graciously, an attribute she never lost. Her desire in life was to be a wife and mother. She married in 1950 and was blessed to be the mother of 4 children. She was always busy working for the Lord, worshiping at Highland Church of Christ since 1949. She was the first church secretary at Highland, taught Bible classes for 20 years, was active in the bus ministry, and later was involved in the WidowWidowers ministry. When her twins started college, she worked 12 years with Dr. Ed Headrick, as secretary in the Psychology Department of Abilene Christian University. Sally was an avid seamstress and enjoyed any craft that allowed her to work with her hands.

Sally cherished her friends and often reminded us all how valuable friends are. She often said she had done the very best she could, that she had kept the faith and prayed that she had been a great Mom. She was a great Mom.

Survivors include four children, Bobby Hart of Florida, Rhonda Chaney and husband Tom of Abilene, Tricia Anderson and husband Scott of Abilene, and Dr. Michael Hart of Stamford; six grandchildren, Emily Chaney Smith and husband Adam, Leslie Edwards, Martine Chaney, Chantz Anderson, Slayde Anderson, and Gentri Anderson; one great grandchild, Cutter Koi Smith and numerous other special family members.

Sallys life was filled with love, hope, faith and as in all cases some disappointments. But as those who loved her can attest, she conquered them beautifully so that the hard times were not wasted.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and two infant children, Jeffrey Alan and Emily Ann Hart.

And so shined a good life in a weary world.
