Samuel James Janca, 21, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in Abilene, TX due to complications with diabetes. His funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 6, 2009 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery in Rowena, TX. Visitation will be from 3:00 till 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 5, 2009 at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Sam was born May 27, 1988 in Corpus Christi, TX to Allen and Carmen Janca. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Jefferson, TX and attended TSTC in Marshall and Cisco Junior College in Abilene. Sam was a member of Wylie Church of Christ and was employed as a shift manager at Whataburger. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and playing video games. He was known for his witty, smart, and sweet spirit and will be missed greatly by his loving family.
Sam is survived by his parents, Allen and Carmen Janca; two brothers, whom he adored, Matthew and Jacob of San Angelo, TX; grandparents, Mildred Garza of Abilene, TX and Albert and Karen Janca of San Angelo, TX; uncles and aunts, Jesse and Olga Garza of Corpus Christi, TX, Michael and Andrea Small of Abilene, TX Dave and Kristi Lewis of Brady, TX, Brian and Angie King of Brady, TX and Kevin Janca of San Angelo, TX; great-grandparents, Cecil and Mary Garza of Abilene and Freida Janca of San Angelo, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Janca; grandfather, Jesus Garza and great-grandparents, Adolph and Lillie Gates, Elo and Mary Schwertner and Albert Janca, Sr.
