Samuel Vallery

Samuel Joed Vallery died unexpectedly in Lafayette, LA on December 23, 2023, at the age of 71. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Samuel “Joed” was born on September 4, 1952, to the late Lawson and Etheline Vallery in Midland, TX. He married Deborah Bridges on November 24, 1972, in Abilene, TX. Samuel worked in the oilfield for over 30 years. He enjoyed cooking for all occasions, baking brownies, bowling, hunting, and attending sports events for his grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren wholeheartedly. He was a handy-man and was known to have the tools to fix anything and everything. He also managed to be a spiritual leader for his family and close friends. Above all Joed loved his family with all his heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Joed Vallery is preceded in death by his parents; Lawson and Etheline Vallery, Son; Dustin, Grandson; Colson and Sister; Tura Bourg.

Samuel is survived by his wife, Deborah Vallery; children, Wade Vallery, Kelli Fruge and husband Ricky, Kristi Porter and husband Brandon, and Kevin Vallery and Fiancé Angela Viviano. Siblings; Lawson Vallery and Bobby Vallery. Grandchildren; Gaige Dugas and wife Halie, Evan Fruge, Hayden Fruge and Ashlyn Fruge, Ethan Porter, Aubrey Porter and Adley Porter, Lawson Vallery and Madison Faul. Great Grandchildren; Estella, Elliott and Elijah Dugas. Along with nieces and nephews.

As we bid farewell to this great man who lived life with both purpose and passion, let us find comfort in knowing that the memory of Samuel Joed Vallery will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace forever remembered and immensely loved.
