Sissy was born September 2, 1938, in Cisco, Texas to Sam Davis Fields and Elizabeth Fern Warren Fields, she lived in Cisco until she was 4 ½ years old. They moved to Pecos, Tx, where her father obtained a job at the Pecos newspaper and helped start a Baptist church, which Sissy was very proud of. Sissy's family moved to Abilene Texas, where she was able to attend junior high and high school. While in school she met Ivin Eugene (Gene) Thompson at Dyess AFB. After graduation where they went on to marry on July 21, 1957. Sissy and Gene were blessed with 4 children, LuCinda Jean Rose born in 1958, Robert Davis Thompson in 1959, Rodney Steven Thompson in 1966 and Ryder Brandon Thompson in 1971. Over the years Gene was stationed at various bases, however always made sure Sissy was in Abilene to have their children. In 1981 they had their first grandchild, Steven Peter Rose in1981 and then shortly followed by their second grandchild, Alyssa Nicole Thompson in 1982. She continued to be blessed with 3 more grandchildren, Tanner Brandon Rose in 1989, Ryker Aston Thompson in 2005 and Ryson Asher Thompson in 2016. She had one great grandchild, Tavin Bishop Ware born in 2011. And an extended family of Juston Allen Grey in 1980, Allette Dylin Grey in 1982, Justin Lee Lett in 1988, Wesley Aaron Valdez in 1990 and Matthew Evan Valdez In 1991, Sissy meet JB Denson in1990 , who has been by her side ever since through it all..

Sissy started watching children in her home in 1973, to give Ryder someone to play with. She continued to care for many children until 1998 when she became ill. She touched the lives of all the children she cared for and maintained close relationships with many throughout her life. Over the years Sissy has touched many hearts by her generosity, upbeat attitude and will of a survivor. She has left a legacy beyond words that cannot be express.

Sissy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister and brother in law. She leaves behind 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
