Sharon Giddens

Sharon Theresa Giddens 85, passed away on Thursday March 20, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. Memorial service will be on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church 871 Woodlawn Dr. Abilene, Texas.

Sharon was born on December 22, 1939, in Oklahoma City, OK to her loving parents Oscar Thomas Quinnett and Mary Elizabeth Quinnett.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She had a strong faith and shared that with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She has done many years of Bible Study Fellowship. She had been a member of Emmaus and Kairos Prison Ministry. She had been the librarian of University Baptist Church and had volunteered at the Abilene Baptist Association's food pantry. She sewed many outfits for her children when they were young, but she took great pleasure in cooking. She was an amazing baker of desserts. She was deeply devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Leah Sumrall and husband Harold; her daughter, Therese Pollard and husband Cliff; her son, Jerry Giddens; Her grandchildren, Chad Pollard, Patrick Sumrall and wife Rebekah, Destiney Giddens, Jason Giddens and wife Chelsey, Jessica Pollard and Tabatha Sumrall; 13 great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings; sons, William and Thomas; her grandson Craig; and special friend, Tommy Burl.

Sharon will be deeply missed.
