Sharon Sue Reid, 62, of Abilene, TX, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in Abilene, TX.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX 79606. Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 2022, at Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center.
Sharon was born on September 1, 1959, in Abilene, TX, to Samuel Garth McLeod and Wanda Flippin McLeod. After graduating high school, she worked for the Abilene Reporter News before going to work for Matel as a retail merchandiser. Sharon married the love of her life, Greg Reid on February 28, 1986, in Abilene, TX. Greg said, "she was my perfect match, and we made many great memories together". She enjoyed many activities including fishing, crafting, and cooking for her family. Sharon loved to collect things back in the day including hot wheels, Barbies, and her most recent collection item were nutcrackers. She loved all animals including a family of Mockingbirds who would eat from her hand. As her health began to decline her interest in crime TV and detective shows piqued her interest. Most of all Sharon loved her family and spending time with them. She had a strong faith in the Lord that she carried with her during her courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Garth McLeod; brothers, David Garth McLeod and Barry Ray McLeod.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Greg Reid; daughters, Wanda Sue Hall, Katherine Marlene Cairns and husband Mitchel James, Kellie Renee Bellah and husband Kolton Blue; mother, Wanda McLeod; sister Michel McLeod; numerous extended family and friends.
