Shaun Glenn Cruse 41, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center. Visitation Friday, August 20, 2021 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 608 North 7th Street, Abilene, Texas. Funeral be at 9:30 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Abilene Texas, with burial to follow at the Abilene City Cemetery under the Direction of Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
We know these are trying times and the community is still experience high risk of the COVID-19. The family is asking that you wear your mask at the visitation and funeral services. You will not be able to enter the building without a mask. Thank you for respecting the family wishes.
Born February 11, 1980 in Abilene Texas Shaun was the son of Billie Charles Lowry and Wanda Louise Cruse. He was brought up and baptized in Saint Paul I.M.E. Church Abilene, Texas where he was taught the word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Shaun attended AISD where he excelled in basketball at both Mann Middle School and Abilene High School. He was employed by Aqua One of Abilene, Texas.
To know Shaun was to love him. He had an avid love for basketball and he was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys and LeBron James fan.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ocie Lee Lowry, Maternal grandfather and grandmother, William (Saint Baby) Cruse and Ruby Jean Payne - Watkins and his niece Aviance Cruse. Uncle Donald Ray Cruse and James Lowry Sr.
Survivors include his father, Billy Charles Lowry, mother Wanda Louise Cruse and bonus Father Joe Jones. Paternal grandmother, Shirley Nowlin, wife, Latoya Cruse, three daughters, Caitlyn Rodriguez, Sian Cruse, Simonei Cruse, granddaughter Remi Morales. three sons Shaun Cruse Jr., Demetris Cruse and Travontae Johnson. Two sisters, Shaquetta Cruse (Tyrone) and Candice Lowry. Brother, Michael Cruse (Sherri), Bonus brothers, Joe Joe Jones and two bonus sisters, Shamika Jones-Mack and Quasheda Jones. Uncle Greg Cruse (Nancy), Reggie Cruse , Sammy Lowry (Dawn), and Mike Jones. Great aunt Annie Laura Jackson. He is also survive by a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many cousins in his lifelong best friends.
The family wishes to thank Victoria Ovando, Adult Mental Health Caseworker from Betty Hardwick for all you did to help Shaun. Please know that your kindness has not gone unnoticed.
