Sherrill Dolphin

Sherrill Dolphin, 74, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Abilene. Visitation will be Monday, April 11, 2011, from 6 till 8 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Sherrill was born in Ft. Worth, TX on November 15, 1937 to Clifford and Ina Fancher Yancy. She graduated high school in New Orleans and attended LSU. She relocated to Houston in 1969 where she met and married William Dolphin in 1970 and they enjoyed 29 years of marriage until his passing in 1999. She loved traveling, reading, and playing along with Jeopardy always trying to get her family to go and tryout for the show. Her family says she was a very smart lady who had a degree in everything and if you doubted it you could just ask her. She was a member of the Church of the Heavenly Rest.
Sherrill is survived by three children, Michael Dolphin and wife Donna of Red Oak, TX, Dorothy Graham and husband Thomas of Katy, TX, Penny Bond and life partner Michele of Round Rock, TX 6 grandchildren, Amber Alley, Amanda Bond, Jason Dolphin, Cameren Strickler, Brad Graham, Olivia Waggoner one great grandchild, Naysa Alley one sister, Barbara Williamson of Virginia and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband her parents one daughter, Theresa Elizabeth Bishop and one son, John Patrick Dolphin.
