On Saturday, September 25, 2010, Shirley McCoy passed away at her home in Eula, Texas of natural causes. She left behind her husband of nearly 50 years, Warren McCoy of Eula a daughter and soninlaw, Tina and Billy Martin of Abilene four grandchildren, Shawn McCoy and wife Lacey McGrew McCoy, Terri Martin Driffill and husband RJ, Glen Bo Martin, and Michael Martin four great grandchildren, Cameron Driffill, Gage Driffill, Ireland Rose McCoy and Aspen McCoy four sisters, Bobbie Jean Maguire of Connecticut, Lavone Gowen of Hawley, Nancy Hunter and Dodie Landrum both of Abilene.

Her parents, Joe and Emily Rushing, a son, Sherrill Glen McCoy, a daughter, Melissa Ann McCoy, a grandson, Christopher Allen McCoy and a brother, J.B. Rushing preceded her in death.

Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a kindhearted, caring person who devoted her life to her family. Family was the most important thing to Shirley and she loved them unconditionally. She was a Christian woman who loved and served the Lord wholeheartedly. She will be loved and remembered until the day we meet again.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 30th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in the Garden of Ten Commandments at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

The family will gather at 5142 Millie CT in Abilene.
