Somboon Keeragool

Captain Somboon Keeragool, Royal Thai Navy Retired, was born in Thailand on September 27, 1945. He was the eldest son of Tawil and Saward, and big brother to his 6 siblings brothers Sombat, Sommart, Somporl, Sompoat, Somkiet, and sister Tussany. After his secondary school graduation, Somboon continued his education at the Royal Thai Navy Military School. He served in the Navy for nearly 3 decades, and up until the time he relocated to the United States. 

As a young sailor, Somboon was stationed at a Naval Base in Chonburi province where he would meet and marry his wife of 49 years Suriya "Chin" Chankamnerd. Together they have 3 children Chutima "Ying", Gaesavee "Apple", Trisorn "North" and 4 grandchildren Annaliese, Christopher, Eira and Juniper. Somboon is survived by his beloved wife, his children, son-in-law Chris, daughter-in-law Meg, grandchildren, 4 siblings, his brother and sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who all adored him for his loving and gentle nature. Somboon enjoyed nature and loved spending time at the ocean and the mountains. He loved being with his family, especially, his grandchildren. He made many great memories traveling with his family, Maine being one of his favorites. He also enjoyed many trips with his Krau Thai family. Somboon "Boon" was funny, kind, hardworking, patient and loving, some of the many reasons he was truly loved and adored by all who knew him. He will always be his grandkids' favorite and "Ta"
