Sonja Ratzlaff

Sonja Josephine Ratzlaff passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023 at the age of 84 with family by her side.
Born in Abilene, TX on November 7, 1938 to James and Mabel (Billie) Shelton, Sonja was the youngest of two children. Her older brother James Wyatt Shelton passed away in 1950 at the young age of 16. Sonja was raised in California, Kansas, & Oklahoma before settling in Colorado where she raised her children and loved on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sonja was devoted to her faith and love of Jesus. She met her husband Larry at church in 1983 and they were married on February 26th, 1984. Larry and Sonja worked together to run a successful business and built a beautiful mountain home in Manitou Springs, CO that would become known as Papa & Grandma/Mema's house.

Sonja leaves behind her devoted husband of 39 years, Larry Ratzlaff; loving children James Becquet of Lafayette, LA, David Becquet of Castle Rock, CO, Denise Brown of Walsenburg, CO and Kevin Becquet of Studio City, CA; loving stepchildren Robin Parks, Ron Ratzlaff, Debra Ratzlaff and Anita Spring; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Sonja was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
