Stanley Key

Stanley G Key, 71, beloved father, loving husband and incredible friend was called to his eternal resting place on March 3, 2020. He entered this world on November 29, 1948 in Lovington, NM to Vernon Newton (Jack) and Jewell Key.  After graduating from Abilene High School in 1966, he attended Hardin Simmons University, graduating in 1969. He attended Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary. He married his high school sweetheart Margaret June Key on January 20, 1968. He worked 23 years in Christian book selling, 8 years as a purchasing manager for Hardin Simmons University, 11 years as a software salesman and worked as the bookstore manager for Cisco College before retiring in 2012. After retiring he enjoyed substitute teaching for AISD.

He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret June Key in 2018 after 50 years of marriage.

Stanley is survived by one brother, Garry Key, two daughters Lisa and husband Billy Davis of Abilene, Lori Key of Abilene, and one son, Matt and wife Carri Key of Lubbock.

There are eight grandchildren: Cody Ethan-Key Davis, Brylee Jordan and husband Charlie Lawson, Chase Catheryn McBurney, Austin Brooks Barnes, Brayden Kelly Key, Randy Chance Davis, Piper June Key, and Mackenzie Lynn Key.

A memorial will be held on March 7, 2020, at 2:00 PM. at Elmwood Funeral Home Abilene, TX
