Stella Deleon

Estolia V. DeLeon (Stella) passed away peacefully April 13, 2018. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM followed by a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood Street. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Stella was born November 9, 1950 to Gregorio and Guadalupe Villarreal in Knox City, Texas. She attended and graduated from Munday High School. She married the love of her life, Lupe DeLeon on April 19, 1969 in Sweetwater, Texas. Together the couple had four children and built their home and business in Abilene. Stella was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar driver Jimmie Johnson and was an avid Bingo player. She had a tenacity for life and an immense love for her family and friends. Stella was a fighter as she demonstrated during her five year battle with breast cancer in which showed her unwavering strength, courage and faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Guadalupe Villarreal; her father and mother in law, Jose and Maria DeLeon; two precious great grandbabies, Addison and Annalilly.

Stella is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lupe R. DeLeon; four children, Connie DeLeon, Davy DeLeon, Randy DeLeon and his wife Luisa, and Erika Reyna and her husband Eloy; eleven grandchildren, Nicole, David, Alexis, Rafael, Ryon, Mia, Raul, Araceli, Alex, Marlee, and Abriana; three great grandchildren, Alairyc, Gregory, and Averie; five siblings, Janie Barrientez, Robert Villarreal, Maria De Anda, Ricardo Villarreal, Virginia Alviar; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Texas Oncology- Abilene North, especially Dr. Anton Melnyk, for their support during Stella's battle with cancer.
