Steve Casarez

Steve Casarez Jr., 39, of Abilene, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.

He was born May 31, 1977 to Steve Sr. and Elsa Casarez of Abilene, Texas. He attended Eula High School where he was a runner, artist, and to many, a friend. He enjoyed hanging out downtown sipping on coffee and rollerblading with friends. His faith and adventurous spirit drew him to Springfield, MO where he met the love of his life Susana Renteria. He received his Bachelors at Evangel University and his Masters at Drury University. He and Susana began their journey of love in Springfield, where they were always surrounded with family, friends, love, and laughter. The Lord then brought them to Abilene where their love and joy touched many. Steve's love, laughter, fun, coffee, and community impacted so many around him. No one could escape his wit, goof, or undoubtedly hilarious jokes.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 13.5 years, Susana Renteria Casarez; three beautiful children, Steve III, 8, Sarai, 4, Silas, 1; four brothers, Martin, Carlos, Michael and his wife Gloria, Toby and his wife Vanessa; a sister, Victoria and her husband Jordan Brown; four nieces, Sarena, Elisabeth, Roselle, and Abigail; one nephew, Nicolas.
The Family will receive friends and extended family Monday, February 13, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A Memorial Services will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM Monday, February 13, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Lemme officiating.
