Steve Hamilton

Steve Hamilton, 60, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at his home at Lake Fort Phantom. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM on Friday, April 27th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. The family will receive friends following the service.

Steve was born on August 12, 1951 in Cherryvale, Kansas where he spent most of his youth. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1969 and attended HardinSimmons University. He married Katherine Phillips on September 12, 1986 in Jacksonhole, Wyoming. Steve worked in clothing manufacturing and at Abilene Christian University for 7 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Abilene two sons, Cade Alan Hamilton of Abilene and Stephen Tique Hamilton and wife Stacy of Sweetwater his parents, Harry and Shirlee Hamilton of Abilene a sister, Cindee Sokal and husband Paul of Dallas two brothers, Harry Anthony Andy Hamilton and wife Shoyleen of Katy and Paul Wayne Hamilton and wife Robyn of Abilene nieces and nephews, Ryan and wife Jessica, Hailey, Adam, Peter, Sheri and husband Todd, Amanda, Clinton, Arran, Brie, Katie, Amy, Andue and Daniel and great nieces and nephew, Presli, Keeli and Cadon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Hendrick Hospice Care.
