Steve Tallman

At the age of 63, Steve Tallman passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in Abilene, Texas. On Thursday, September 10, 2020 a funeral service will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Following will be a gravesite service at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Steve was born April 18, 1957 in Enid, Oklahoma. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a young man. He was retired from TDCJ as a correctional officer with ten years of dedicated service. His faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of his life. Steve was devoted to his wife Tammy for 43 years, to his children and his 4 grandchildren. To know Steve was to know pure joy. He could always be found with a smile on his face and was always sure to put a smile on everyone he met. Steve could be described as a selfless man of faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s football and baseball games. Steve’s legacy will be one that will live on for generations to come. He was dearly loved and will be forever in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Viola Marshall.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Tammy Tallman. His children Eric Tallman and his wife Sarah, Ramona Nelson and her husband Brandon. His four grandsons, Gavin Nelson, Carter Nelson, Bryson Tallman and Slade Tallman; his sister, Lee McKelvain and his brother Ricky McKelvain.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
