Sue Elliott

Sue Francis Elliott, 70 went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Hospice Center. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel 5750 Hwy 277 South, with Elder Floyd Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by Elmwood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.


Sue Francis was born May 22, 1941 to Sydney Green and Vermille McGee in Abilene, TX. She was a faithful member of the North 10th Treadaway Church of Christ until her death. She attended both Woodson Elementary Woodson High School and Cisco Junior College. Sue worked twentyone years for the City of Abilene water office as a Customer Service Representative, and was the Administrative Director for Care Inn of Abilene for five years.

Sue loved being the mother of her 11 children, grandmother to 30 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Sue Francis is preceded in death by her parents, Sydney Green and Vermille McGee Sherman husband, Clarence Elliot Sr soninlaw, Bobby Stevenson and one great grandson, Avointe Kennedy III.

Sue Francis is loved and survived by sons, Clarence Jr Theresa, Sammy Mary, Michael, John Sandy all of Abilene, James Mary of Irving, TX, and David of Dallas, TX. daughters, Betsy Elliott Durnell of Carmel, CA, Deydra Williams Robert of Abilene, Phyllis ReeceClarence of Ft. Worth, TX., Sharon Johnson Greg of Rio Rancho, NM, Stephanie Purvis Roger of Killeen, TX. one aunt, Margaret Suggs of Abilene and a host of cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center or American Cancer Society.
