Sylvia Saferight

December 2, 1939 — September 6, 2023

Sylvia Saferight, a devoted Christian woman, was born on December 2, 1939, in Snyder, Texas, to proud parents T. A. and Delma Martin. Her life was a testament to faith, family, and unwavering love.

Sylvia's journey began in Hawley, Texas, where she graduated from high school, setting the foundation for a life filled with purpose and dedication. On December 31, 1959, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love when she married Clarence Saferight. Together, they created a loving home and cherished each other through the joys and challenges of life.

In her early years, Sylvia worked diligently for Timex and TI, but her true calling came when she began her career with the public schools. Her commitment to hard work left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students.

Sylvia's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where her love for the Lord shone brightly. Her Christian values guided her actions, inspiring those around her with her kindness, compassion, and grace.

But Sylvia's heart was not confined to her faith alone; it extended to her beloved family. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations. Sylvia also had a special fondness for camping, where she found peace in the beauty of the outdoors and the company of loved ones.

Sylvia Saferight is survived by her three loving children, Teresa Willison and husband Bobby of Odessa, TX, Donna Wright of Anson, TX, and Robert Saferight and wife Christine of Anson, TX. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.

In addition to her children, Sylvia leaves behind eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, Houston Lee. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on through each of them, a testament to her enduring impact on their lives.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence, she also joins her three brothers and four sisters who went before her, reunited in the loving embrace of the Lord.

As we bid farewell to Sylvia, we take comfort in the knowledge that she now rests in the arms of her Savior. Her life was a beacon of love, faith, and family, and her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

Pallbearers for the service will be Tyler Jamison, Brandon Wardlaw, Gavin Wardlaw, and Bryce Wardlaw.
