Teresa Massengill

Teresa "Terri" Massengill, 67, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 in Dallas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 hwy 277 South.
Terri was born January 1, 1948 in Hobbs, NM to Melvin and Olga Brock Tonge. She grew up in Eunice, NM and moved to Abilene in the early 1970's. She was a graduate of San Angelo State where she received her nursing degree. Her passion was serving others so she began her career with Abilene State School. After thirty-eight years of service she retired from Abilene State School in 2001.
She was a volunteer with the HRC at Abilene State School. Her favorite pastime was cheering for the Rangers and watching baseball. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and shopping.
Terri is survived by her husband, Charles; three children, Shellee Vice and husband Terry, Carl Claunch, Michelle Bunch and partner De' Bomar; seven grandchildren, one great grandson, one brother, Walter Tonge; one sister, Kathy Sherrets; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Sue Tonge.
The family suggests memorial donations in Terri's honor to Meals on Wheels.
