Teresa Medina

Nieves Teresa Castillo Medina, 69, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Abilene.

A visitation and prayer service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 3 to 5 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 18, 2019 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Teresa was born on August 5, 1949 in Robstown, Texas to the late Pedro Lopez Castillo and Teresa Munoz Castillo. She was preceded in death by Jimmy Medina. She was lovingly known as "The Boss" and was very loving and caring. Teresa was loved and respected by her family and friends. She was blessed to find her second love Joe Lopez. They enjoyed dancing, traveling and loved Tejano music. Another favorite of Teresa's was bingo, and if she wasn't at work or church she could often be found playing bingo. Teresa passed away on her and Joe's 13th anniversary. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Joe Lopez; children, Missy Herrera, Melinda Herrera and husband Mario Gonzalez, Sonia Rodriguez and husband Jerry, Blanca Reyes and husband Jason, Cynthia Esquivel and husband Salvador; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; 5 siblings; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Teresa was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary G Herrera, son Michael V. Herrera.
