Teresa Ann Marie Moates

Teresa Ann Marie Moates, born in Abilene, Texas, on November 7, 1969, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025. A woman of many talents, boundless energy, and an unforgettable spirit, Teresa touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, humor, and generosity.

A proud graduate of Abilene High School and Abilene Christian College, Teresa’s life was as vibrant and diverse as her interests. She had a passion for antiquing, fishing, Harley Davidsons, yard sales, and football—always bringing her unique charm to everything she did.

In the 1990s, Teresa pursued a modeling career, working for multiple brands, and even attended culinary school during this time. She wasn’t afraid of hard work, spending a few years as a construction worker where her colleagues affectionately nicknamed her “Concrete Barbie,” even crafting a Barbie doll in her honor.

Later, Teresa transitioned to a career in healthcare, starting as a CNA and rising to become a Physical Therapist Supervisor. She dedicated herself to helping others until she retired to pursue her dream of being a business owner. Teresa’s generous heart and infectious energy made her the life of the party and a cherished friend to many.

Teresa’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her six children: Cory Ray Moates, Anthoney Drew Garcia, Brandon Jose Garcia, David Lee Garcia, Eric Rene Garcia, and Lilly Ann Marie Elizabeth Grant. Her love extended to her 17 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

An avid fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys, Teresa’s love for her home state of Texas was unmatched. She was a true Texan through and through, cheering on her teams with passion and loyalty.

Teresa’s kindness, humor, and unwavering support for others will be deeply missed. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and had an extraordinary ability to bring people together. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
