Thomas Tom Sinclair Wolford, 55, of Abilene, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2008 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His funeral service with Matt McGowen and Paul Matta officiating, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31st in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 PM on Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Tom was born on September 10, 1953 to the late Eileen and James Wolford in Kenton, Ohio and graduated from High School in Hicksville, Ohio. He married Tammy Castleberry in Abilene. He worked for the Abilene State School, Denver Housing Authority, Abtex Beverage, and was employed with Ben E. Keith as a route driver at the time of his death.
Tom enjoyed deep sea fishing, cooking for his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in caring for his home and yard and had impeccable organization skills, often following behind Tammy fixing things. He had a witty sense of humor and created a lot of laughs and smiles.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Wolford; three daughters, Shauna Hernandez and husband Patrick of Colorado City, Christina Wolford of Ft. Worth and Natashia Wolford of Abilene; one son, Nathaniel Hawkins of New Braunfels; six grandchildren, Dylan Martinez, Ivan Hernandez, Isaac Garza, Caitlyn Garza, Kashlyn Hawkins, and Cambreigh Wilson; two sisters, Phyllis Hadley Gene of Bourbonnais, Illinois and Pat Womochil Jerry of Broomfield, Colorado; one brother, Mike Wolford Lolita of Las Vegas, Nevada.
The family would like to thank Dr. Carolyn Aks and Hendrick Hospice Care for the special care given to Tom.
