Timmy Lynn Casey, 63, was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 after a strong and courageous fight. A visitation will be held 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, September 1, 2023 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Wylie Methodist Church, 3430 Antilley Road. Interment will follow in Potosi Cemetery.
Born in Abilene on February 10, 1960, Tim was the middle of 5 children. He grew up attending Wylie schools where he actively participated in several sports. After graduating in 1978, Tim pursued the skills he learned as a young kid and partnered with others to create a company focused on concrete work. Eventually, he established his own successful venture - Tim Casey Construction. The success of that company can be seen across the Big Country and surrounding areas. Tim took pride in each job completed. His dedication to quality earned him a reputation for excellence within the industry. Tim married Holly Versyp on September 21, 1985 and together they built a fun and fulfilling life rooted in love and laughter. As a father of four children, Tim worked tirelessly to provide them with the best possible life and give them all of the opportunities he did not have. He took great pride in coaching and watching his children participate in sports and various other activities. Throughout his life, Tim remained committed to hard work and integrity - values that continue to inspire those who knew him well, especially his children.
Tim had a passion for golf that he enjoyed regularly and even attained four hole-in-ones. He was an active member of the Shady Oaks Golf Club, where he not only played his favorite sport but also built lasting friendships and cherished memories. Tim instilled his love of the game in his sons, who joined him in multiple golf tournaments. Pebble Beach held a special place in Tim's heart, whether he was playing or watching.
Tim will always be remembered for his exceptional friendliness and kindness. He had a profound impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, as he deeply cared for his friends and family. His willingness to lend a helping hand was unparalleled.
Although we mourn the loss of Tim, we take pride in the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
Tim is survived by his wife, Holly Casey; his daughters, Teah Polvado and husband Jacob, Shayla Salazar and husband Rex; sons Riley Casey, and Kegan Casey; two grandchildren, Zaria Polvado, and Mason Polvado; his twin brother, Tommy Casey and wife Jill; brother, Johnny Casey; sister, Jan Casey; his fur babies, The Chewy's; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Lung Transplant team at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas and their staff, namely Katherine Vandervest, MD. The family also wants to express heartfelt appreciation to Cedric W. Spak, MD, MPH with Texas Centers for Infectious Disease Associates.
