On Thursday, December 19, 2019, Timothy “Tim” Simpson, loving father, son, brother and friend, passed away at the age of 46.
Tim was born in the Philippines on December 21, 1972. He joined his forever family at 9 weeks old. He grew up in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Cooper High School in 1992. Right after graduation, Tim joined the United States Army until he was discharged in 1993. Tim worked as a Certified Nurse Aide in several nursing homes and really loved working with and helping his elderly patients. In 1997 Tim moved to Houston, Texas where he continued to work in nursing homes for several years. He tried his hand at over the road truck driving. He attended culinary school for a time but finally found his passion when attending Texas Southern University. He would have been graduating with his B.A. in Health Services Administration in May of 2020.
Tim loved cooking. He would often cook for family and friends and loved to share his passion for good food. He was a friend to so many and known for his laugh and his smile. He always wanted to help anyone who needed it whether you were a friend or stranger. His heart was as big as Texas.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Dollie Saltzman; brother, Christopher Jones; niece, Brittany Connelly; and cousin, Fred Ice.
Tim was blessed with 3 beautiful children, Ayanna Simpson, Shonquez Whiting and Kendall Simpson. He had one grandson, Zaiden.
He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Niedecken and step-father George; his sister, Angela Lindsey (Lenwood Connelly); step-sister Lisa Niedecken Bledsoe (Jon Bledsoe), step-brother Timothy Niedecken; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends.
ILL Timothy Simpson 32nd was a member of the National Supreme Council A.A.S.R. Mason, where we are a part of the Sons of Light Grand Council of Texas where ILL Willie Mann 33rd is Grand Deputy. He was a part of Habor Lodge #357 where ILL Demarcus Green 32nd is Worshipful Master where Timothy had previously served as Past Master of the lodge.
Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 27, 2019 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.
