Velma Sosebee

Velma Sosebee left her earthly home on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 82 years of age. Velma was born on May 3, 1930 in Mission, Texas to Zula Mae Roe Pierce and Luther Thomas Pierce. She graduated from Mission High School in 1947 and married William David Sosebee in February 1948. She was a division manager for Sears in McAllen for many years and retired with over 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Mission Church of Christ and worshiped at Westgate Church of Christ after moving to Abilene.
Grandma spent many wonderful summers on the Medina River in Medina, Texas with family and friends. Velma is survived by daughters, Jackie Lee and Connie McSherry of Abilene, Cindy Lawrence of Rowlett and son, Danny Sosebee of McAllen. She dearly loved her 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 44 years, David, and her eldest son, Thomas David Sosebee.
