Vernon Hill

Vernon R. Hill, 75, of Abilene passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 in Abilene.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 6 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Vernon was born on December 26, 1939 in Hebron, Nebraska to the late Vernon Roy Hill and Ruby Rosetta Shinn. He married Margaret Frances Swan on June 6, 1959. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1996. Vernon served his country in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 20 plus years of service. He then worked for American Eagle until he retired.

Vernon is survived by his sons, Mark w. Hill and wife Bobbie J. of Abilene, Rodney R. Hill and wife Traci; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Pat Reed and husband Buddy, Joyce Cox; sister in-laws, Charlene Hill, Norma Hill.

Vernon was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul Hill and Roy Hill.
