Victor Hirst Ii

Victor Al Hirst II "VJ", 24, passed away March 21, 2016 in Abilene. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Faith Deliverance Community Church, 5501 Hwy 277 South. Interment will follow the service at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery of Abilene.

VJ was born October 2, 1991 in Abilene and grew up in Anson, TX. He graduated from Anson High School in 2009, where he was on the wrestling team and a member of FFA. He joined the United States Army in 2011 as part of the Infantry. He served his country proudly but due to injury was unable to serve with his brothers in Afghanistan. He received a medical retirement from his duties in 2014. While stationed in Seattle he met Jamie Ables and they were married in 2012, together they have one daughter, Kinsley Jay Hirst. While growing up Victor was a member of the Boy Scouts and some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and shooting.

Victor is survived by his wife, Jamie; daughter, Kinsley; mother and step-dad, Cindy and Jim Norwood; father, Victor Al Hirst Sr.; sister, Christian Hirst; brother, Andrew Norwood; niece, Tiffanie Hirst; grandparents, Nix and Janet Cook and Robert and Shirley Wessels; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his step-grandmother, Yoko Norwood.
