Victoria Barron

Tori Lillian Barron, ended her long fight with cancer on January 16, 2009 when the angels came and carried her on their wings to heaven at the age of 5 years old. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20th at the New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church, 5535 Buffalo Gap RD, where Tori was a born member. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Victoria was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma on July 17, 2005 at the age of 2. She was a long time patient at Cook Childrens Hospital in Ft. Worth and Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. She was always full of fun and spunk and when she was in the hospital, a party always seemed to form in her room.

Victoria spent many hours as a young volunteer. She participated in the 3rd Annual Wish With Wings Butterfly Wishes luncheon helping to grant wishes to Texas children with terminal illnesses and was an important part of the Childrens Miracle Network Telethon benefitting Hendrick Childrens Hospital. Tori attended Kindergarten at Bassetti Elementary. She received a scholarship to APAC and was beginning to learn ballet; she wanted to be a ballerina when she grew up.

She is survived by her parents, Michael and ReDena Barron; brothers, Zane and Martin; and Unckie Johnathan Lanham all of Abilene; Grandparents, Reverend Johnie and Vickie Lanham and Manuel and Sherry Barron all of Lamesa; Great Grandfather, Reverend E.R. Lanham of Abilene; Uncle and Aunt, Stephen and Tracy White of Dalhart; Memuh Melanie Wilkes of Ft. Worth; her loving Pastor and his wife, Reverend Jonathan and Valerie Neely; along with many other family and friends.

Her Great Grandparents, Alvin LaVerne Hayes, Vanita Lanham, and Juanita Lanham, Daryl and Nancy Beck, Santos and Flora Barron, Uncle Curtis Williams, and dear friends, Elesha Debbenport and Brandon Coats preceded her in death.
