Vidal Cavazos Sr.

Vidal Cavazos Sr. Passed away January 15, 2022 in Abilene, Texas. He was 92 yrs old. Visitation is Tuesday from 5pm till 8pm at Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday graveside service will follow January 19th, 2022 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Santos Uvalle IV, Pastor Isaac Lee Uvalle, Israel Lee Uvalle, Nathaniel Aaron Villarreal, Jesi Gardea and Micah Daniel.

Vidal was born May 18, 1929 in Three Rivers, Texas to Teresa Cavazos. On May 30, 1950 he would marry the love of his life Elida Jimemez, they were married 55 years. Vidal served God for over 65 years, dedicating his life to sharing the love of Christ to most everyone he spoke to, he enjoyed serving his church and spending time with family. While  he will be greatly missed Vidal leaves a legacy that will last forever in the hearts of those that love him.

He is proceeded in death by his mother Teresa Cavazos, his wife Elida Cavazos, his daughter Maria Anita Cavazos and his siblings, Pedro Cortez, Juan Cortez and Jesus Cortez.

Vidal is survived by his daughter Rubi Cavazos, son Vidal Cavazos Jr and his wife Mari Cavazos, his grandchildren Maricela Grimaldo and Ramiro, Santos Uvalle and Natalia, Pastor Isaac Uvalle and Flor, Israel Uvalle, Nathaniel Villarreal, Michelle Uvalle, Analiah Estrada, Ashley Villarreal, Jesi Gardea and Kelly, Micah Daniel, Zachary Cavazos and Alexa, Kaitlyn Cavazos, Pamela Rodríguez, Elias Rodríguez III, Paola Rodríguez and Mareli Rodríguez. He has 25 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, brother-in-law Lionel Jimemez, sister-in-law Adela Montez. Siblings Alejandro Cortez, Daniel Cortez, Frank Cortez, Roberto Cortez, Rafaela Ortiz, Cipriana Cortez and Pablo Cortez.
