Violet (Val) Davidson Staley, 73, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Val was born February 18, 1943 in London England to her mother, Rose Ivey Raling. Val worked for Eveready Batteries, where she won the title of Miss Eveready in a beauty contest. Val had many jobs, but her main calling was raising her seven children and helping raise her grandkids. She loved attending their soccer games, award ceremonies for school and college, band concerts, graduations, marriages and ceremonies for advancement in careers. She was very passionate about helping others in need and never hesitated to give a helping hand.
Val is survived by her children, Dawn Wallis, Mark Wallis and spouse Christy, Patricia Harper and spouse Cain, Moira McGowan, Lisa Patterson, Maria Forster and spouse Sydney, Sean McGowan and spouse Mervet, Mindo Flores and Tricia Smith. She is survived by grandchildren Mark, Michelle, Kerry, Graham, Lee, Christopher, Victoria, Rachel, Ashley, Gabbi, Tristan, Hayden, Jaime, Arron, Sydneymarie, James, Johnathan, Ethan and Marisa; great-grandchildren Callum, Aimee, Kayla, Ebony, Christian, Ezra, Kingston, Kennedy, Matthew, Jaden and Elliana; brothers Albert Davidson and spouse Christiana, and Charlie Cork. She is also survived by her former spouse and forever loving sweetheart Harry Wallis.
Val was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Ivey Raling and sister Georgina Rose Murphy.
