Virginia Scott

Virginia D. Scott, 96, died August 25, 2011, in Abilene, Texas. Mrs. Scott was born at Granger, Texas, to Charles W. and Beaulah Partlow. She was the last survivor of nine siblings. She attended school at Drasco, Texas and married Chester R. Scott of the same community. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Scott was a member of First Baptist Church of Abilene, and the Adult I Lightbearers Sunday School Class, and the Adult Senior Choir.
She is survived by a daughter, June Gill and husband Bob of Abilene grandsons, Dr. Kevin Gill and wife Cindy of Dallas Kelly Gill and fiance, Lori Pittard of Abilene and two great grandchildren, Allison and Jonathan of Dallas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South in Abilene with The Rev. Steve Brooks officiating and music by Betty Dunn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, 1333 No. 3rd, Abilene, TX 79601, or Sears Methodist Retirement Systems, Inc., One Village Dr., Suite 400, Abilene, TX, 796068231, or donors charity of choice.
A visitation for family and friends will follow the service at the Gill residence.
