Wanda Mcclure

Wanda Lee McClure went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2011 in Abilene. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 14, 2011in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday.

Wanda was born September 27, 1916 and lived her entire life in Abilene where she worked many years at Thorntons Department store on 4th and Oak. She delivered Meals on Wheels for fourteen years, volunteered at West Texas Rehab events, loved to travel and was an active member Crescent Heights Baptist Church and a passionate member of their dart ball team. Wanda loved to cook especially pies and cakes and delighted in giving them to others. Wanda had a servants heart.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Garvin McClure, her parents, Tom and Grace Lesly, sisters, Eloise, Carrie, Irene, Hessie, Cleo, and Ruby and brothers, Clifford Lesly and Lewis Lesley and nephew, Donald Lesly.

Wanda is survived by her son, James McClure and his wife Ellen grandchildren, Kent McClure and his wife Carol, Kim Gudimetla and her husband Sreenivas great grandchildren, Nikole McClure and Sophie Kims daughter three step grandchildren, Michael Nelson, Michele Reising, Melinda Spence and step great grandchildren, Mallory, Braden, Payton, John Mark, Owen, Andrew and Audrey her sisterinlaw, Ivy Davis her nephews Jimmy Lesly, Clinton Lesley, Junior Lesley, Tom Lesley, Odell Lesly Nieces, Tommie Sue Banks, Grace, Mantooth, Margie Ann Morris, Joyce Johnson, Winnie Dyer, Ernestine Kincaid. Great nephews and nieces include Clint, Audrey, Mark, Lewis.

Wanda loved life and lived it with energy, and with a love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
