Wanda Suggs

Wanda Fay Suggs, 76, of Abilene passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Wanda was born on July 6, 1938 in San Angelo, TX to C.T. "Boots" and Aline Williams. She married J.C. Suggs on March 10, 1962 in Sterling City, TX. He preceded her in death in 1995. Wanda worked in the accounting department for many years at the Abilene State School before going to work and retiring from the U.S. Postal Service. Wanda was a passionate bowler participating in the sport for over 35 years traveling all across the country to bowl in tournaments. She was elected a life member of the GR Abilene, TX USBC.

Wanda was an avid reader and book collector. Her love and devotion to her family and especially her grandchildren was immeasurable.

Wanda is survived by her mother, Aline Williams of San Angelo; sons, Bradley Suggs and wife Kathy of Lubbock, TX, Terry Suggs and wife Julie of Cedar Park, TX, Jimmy Suggs of Amarillo, TX; daughter Pamela Jordan and husband Don of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kelsey Oldham and husband Harrison, Sarah Suggs, Hailey Suggs, Amanda Suggs, Jaycie Suggs, Justis Suggs, J.T. Suggs, Bayler Jordan, Case Jordan; sister, Sandy Coats and husband Maury; brother, Tommy Williams and wife Lea.

Wanda was also preceded in death by her father, C.T. "Boots" Williams.

She will be dearly missed by all who loved her, but Wanda trusted Jesus for her salvation and our sorrow is her GAIN.
